Bangin Bakes Dosing Guide

Potent, Predictable, and Safe Every Time.

Whether you’re infusing cannabutter, oil, or concentrate, understanding your dosage per serving is essential. This guide breaks it down simply so you can dose smart—and bake with confidence.

How to Estimate Potency Per Portion

Here’s a quick formula to estimate the strength of your edibles:

The Basic Formula:

THC (mg) = [THC %] × [1,000] × [Grams of flower] × 0.8

The 0.8 accounts for average decarboxylation and infusion efficiency (roughly 80%).

Example:

You’re using 5g of flower at 20% THC:

20% THC × 1,000 = 200mg per gram
200mg × 5g = 1,000mg total THC
1,000mg × 0.8 = 800mg total infused

If your recipe makes 16 brownies:
800mg ÷ 16 = 50mg THC per brownie

💡 Tip: For lower strength, reduce the amount of infused butter or split into more servings.

How to Adjust Your Dose Safely

Use this simple edible dosing scale as a guide:

THC per ServingEffect LevelRecommended For
1–2.5 mgVery mildMicrodosing, beginners, anxiety relief
5–10 mgMild to moderateOccasional users, mild euphoria
10–25 mgStronger effectsExperienced users
25–50+ mgVery strongHigh tolerance users only

🚨 Always test a quarter or half portion before consuming a full edible—especially with homemade infusions. Effects can take 30–90 minutes to kick in.

Why “Low and Slow” is the Golden Rule

Edibles hit differently. Unlike smoking or vaping, THC is metabolized in the liver, producing 11-Hydroxy-THC, which is more potent and longer-lasting.

That’s why you should always:

  • Start low: 2.5–5 mg max if you’re unsure
  • Go slow: Wait at least 2 hours before re-dosing
  • Know your audience: Guests and friends may need way less

➡️ Remember: You can always eat more. You can’t eat less.

How to Store & Label Edibles Properly

Treat your edibles like you would strong medicine or alcohol:

✅ Label Clearly:

  • Name of edible
  • THC mg per serving
  • Total THC in batch
  • Date made

✅ Store Safely:

  • Use airtight containers
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets
  • Refrigerate or freeze for longer shelf life

✅ Use Icons or Colours:

  • Green or red dot for cannabis edibles
  • Use consistent iconography for microdose vs high-dose items

Summary: Bake Smart

  • Know your flower’s THC %
  • Use the potency formula
  • Stick to low and slow
  • Label and store with care

Because the only thing better than tasty edibles… is knowing exactly what they’ll do.
